Oulu has over 400 year-history of international trade and seafaring. Several hundred companies operate in the logistics and transport sector, and serve northern business as well as international import and export.

Nowadays Oulu connects the material flows of sea, road and railway traffic. Excellent transport connections with all transport means and diversified logistics services benefit the industry and business of the entire Northern Finland and Scandinavia.

Oulu Airport is the 2nd busiest in Finland. It serves 1 million passengers on a yearly basis. We have 15 Oulu-Helsinki return flights every day and fast connections Luleå, Tromso and Gothenburg.

The Port of Oulu is the largest export and import port for unitized goods in the Bothnian Bay. The sea route leading to Oulu will be deepened into 12.50 meters in 2018. The port area will expand its land area by 100 hectares and an entirely new access road is under construction.

Investment plans to fasten the railway connection from Oulu to Helsinki are already made.
